Witchery is a process of working with the Creative Forces (The Goddess) of the Universe and within the Earth. Spells, incantations, prayers and ritual are all exercises to command these forces to work in your favor and with your intent. - Rev. Darrin
I suppose it was inevitable that at some point in my metaphysical career as a spiritual author, I would start to fully convert to Magick, Conjuring and Witchcraft, practices associated with the Old Religion dedicated to the Goddesses. My mother named me “Darrin” after the TV show Bewitched, so from the very beginning there was a sense of the magical initiated into my life. I have been teaching and writing books on intuition and the supernatural for almost 25 years. Experiencing life as a popular psychic led me to write about my journey in my first book, Reader of Hearts: The Life and Teachings of a Reluctant Psychic, published in 2006. Ever since then I have been riding the new age train of self-healing, higher consciousness and spiritual growth. I wanted to bring some of the more “user friendly” aspects of new age thought back down to earth and link it to common sense. The awakening of "witchery" in my life is yet another part of my spiritual journey, it returned me home like the prodigal son to my spiritual roots. I’ve come home to my ancestral power and home to the magickal life I started looking for...oh so many years ago.
I love the definition of magick given to us by the great occultist, Dion Fortune; “Magick is the art of causing changes in consciousness in conformity with the Will.” So in essence the conjuring of magick is focused intention to change one’s life by using one’s own personal spiritual energy and the natural energy of the elements. We have this life, and surrounding it is a web of creative forces that await your attention, and your direction. It takes great courage to open up to the magickal life. True conjuring of the creative forces is a power that does not come with fluffy pink wings, and golden harps. It comes bursting though one’s consciousness with a sledgehammer. It ordains you as a walker of the supernatural worlds. It sets up shop and demands your devotion, your ritual and your will to create its reality here on Earth. It’s the spiritual glue between you and your ancestral guardians.
My personal search and eventual conversion to conjure and witchcraft was spearheaded by an ongoing investigation into my family ancestry and the discovery of my great-grandfather; he was an Arkansas conjurer and blood stopper. I had also discovered in the family lore than went back a few “great, greats” two sisters from Germany that were so called witches. In reality they were healers and powwowers most likely skilled in hexcraft, a sort of hoodoo folk magic born from the German decent. Powwowing, hexcraft, or brauche in the Pennsylvania Dutch dialect, is a magical-religious practice that focuses on the healing of physical ailments as well as protection from physical or spiritual harm and bringing good luck. The practice has been around since the first German-speaking colonies were founded in Pennsylvania in the early eighteenth century. It also has its origins in much older German esoteric traditions, where roots of my mother’s family name Chadwick can also be found. For years I had been seeking spiritual fulfillment my deep meditation, spiritual healing and exploring higher consciousness, but the answers never truly came till I looked down into my ancestral heritage in this life and in previous lives, where the witchery of the Goddess; the Old Religion, saved me. So with all of this being said; if you are looking for the "new agey" psychic guy next door.... he moved. Rev. Darrin took up his mantel as a representative of the Goddess and the Old Religion. May the power of the Goddess live forever in the hearts of the truly magickal.
