In an era of “seek and ye shall find” we are all in great hunger for something more. We attend self-improvement seminars, read spiritual literature, take a crack at yoga, attempt to eat better and try to create a better perspective on life, hoping that these acts of service will appease some divine universal force that will help us overcome our sometimes troubled waters. We do these “healthy” things for ourselves with the intent to be wholesome, but in the back of our mind we are hoping Fate will look down on us and say, “Ok, you ate some organic corn flakes, so we will let you have a day without famine.” We are always looking for that little extra security in a sometimes-fearful world. We were all taught that security here in the physical world comes from a good job and financial gain. That is true, but it’s only one facet of security. It’s a type of physical security that carries no guarantees that it will last. Authentic security does not come from the outside of us in. It comes from the inside out. We can have all the money in the world and still feel insecure.
We are all psychic beings. The word, psychic, means, of the soul. Since we are all most essentially souls, then we are all endowed with psychic potentials. Now some folks, like myself, are called to be psychic consultants or spiritual directors. It’s our job to re-mind you of your own psychic or soul quality. As a psychic who feels called to help others connect with their own inner psychic, my role is to encourage clients to deal with their challenges, not escape them. Remember that professional psychics are not people who are going to give you all the answers to life’s questions. If they are worth their salt, they guide you to understand what your life path is really all about and how you have all the guidance within you. Psychics are meant to be spiritual directors, not fortunetellers.
Psychic, the word itself implies an unseen force that is a director and a hope builder; it knows the unknown, the great mystery. I’m not talking about knowing lotto numbers; I’m talking about knowing that somehow, some way, you have something to give and that you are going to make it in this life. If you were not supposed to “make it” here on earth, you would not be here at all. Psychic ability is a knowing that the habits in life you are investing energy in and that are not good for you need to stop. Understanding your psychic potential means being conscious about your life within and without. Cultivating this essential power is a life-long spiritual practice of relying on yourself within and “knowing” you are on the right track and when you need an inner tune-up.
